In times of loss, many families do not have the financial means to afford a burial. The Archdiocese of Denver provides the services for stillbirths and miscarriages once per month and typically multiple burials are done at the same time. This works well. However, there is one glaring need - the casket. Currently, the "casket" is a container which is similar in appearance to a cooler.
This is where "The Angel Bed Project" comes in. The goal is to provide, at no charge, proper caskets, or Angel Beds as we prefer to call them, to those in need and give those families the dignity that they deserve.
Here are a few pictures of the Angel Beds. The beds are approximately two feet wide, one foot deep and nine inches high.
"The Angel Bed Project" provides many ways to get involved
Do you have woodworking skills? Great! The beds above were built using only a table saw and router and we will supply you with the plans and hardware.
Woodworking not your thing? Do you like to paint? Fabulous! The beds need a finish and we can use your help!
Would you rather sew? Terrific! We need liners for the Angel Beds, too!
Do you like to knit or crochet? Excellent! We can use your skills to make bereavement pouches!
Don't have the time to help with the construction but would like to be involved with the project? You're in luck! Donations are always needed and very much appreciated.
In fact, it's your tax deductible donation that makes The Angel Bed Project possible
